Potrero Branch Library

I was tasked in my undergraduate architecture studio to create a library in the place of the current Potrero Hill Branch Library in San Francisco. It needed to have sufficient space for books, a children’s area, a young adult area, a computer area, administrative office space, storage, and a general reading area. It was only allowed to have a maximum of five floors. I gave the project a refresh since its submission. The overall goal of my design was to integrate and mimic the stepping topography of the area into the building as well as create small nooks and interesting seating areas for readers.
